R.I.P. Daniel Covington
I personally didn't know this young man, but the first thing when I logged onto facebook, just like twitter, he was a trending topic. Daniel Covington, 23, was shot and killed late last night in Louisville (my current living location) on S. Second and W. Liberty Streets. He attended Tates Creek High School in my hometown, Lexington, Ky. and walked on to the Louisville football team, eventually earning a scholarship and landing a position at safety. He graduated last year. Police arrived at the scene and found Covington shot multiple times. He later died at University hospital. Tom Jurich, University of Louisville's vice president and athletic director, sent out his prayers to Covington's family. Jurich had this to say in a press release:
"We are all shocked and deeply saddened to learn of this tragic event. It is very painful to see this happen to a member of our athletic family. We want to extend our deepest sympathies to Daniel's family and friends."
Police later interviewed a witness at the scene who provided good information, according to www.wlky.com's website. Detectives are interviewing two persons of interest, one who was also shot and being treated a hospital for minor injuries. Anyone with more information, please come forth and call (502) 574-LMPD. God chose Daniel to come home, for whatever reason, we don't know, but we do know that he is in good hands. Just remember one thing people, guns don't kill people, we do....think about that one. May you rest in peace my brother.

The Trifling Mom: Jessica Gamble
Remember when I first gave you the news about this stupid 21-year-old mother getting caught by the police with video footage on her cell phone, capturing her 2-year-old daughter smoking weed. Well, she has been indicted on three felony charges, and they have released the video to the public. Charges include, corrupting another with drugs, child endangering and tampering with evidence. I really hope the law can come through and take this girl down. I don't see her getting custody of her child anytime soon. The video footage has her two-year-old daughter standing in front of the TV puffing on a blunt. You can also hear the mother make comments in the video such as: "Don't blow on it," and asking the lil' girl, "What's that." Oh yeah, she also has a few giggles in the process too. Apparently, police got hold to this video because it was forwarded to a witness, who was very disturbed by it. The Tampering with evidence charge stems from Gamble trying to delete the video from her cell phone. She faces 11 1/2 years in prison. Click the link below to check it out if you haven't already:

Weezy getting the Royal Treatment in Jail!?!
If this is true, it shouldn't be a surprise. Sources are saying that Weezy is like an Italian mobster in jail who lives V.I.P. style on Rikers Island with restaurant deliveries and other good treats. An unnamed source claims that Wayne's guests get car service and other treatments that other inmates don't get. My guess is that this could be a jealous inmate. People who work at the jail have been said to bring Weezy food from Jackson Hole restaurant and a local pizzeria. Also, tipping him off when he is going to be searched. I'm starting to believe that part of these allegations are true for the fact that he got caught with an iPod within his first few months. A female was fired from Rikers after being accused of gawking all over Wayne. She plans to file a lawsuit against the department of corrections. However, non of these allegations have been proven, nor have they changed Weezy's release date in November. This story can go both ways. I remember when T.I. got locked up and they had to seclude him from staff and other inmates because of his celebrity status and so many staff members trying to hand him cds and other stuff. Good luck with the allegations Rikers!
Kanye West planning to drop a 40-minute film of his second single
If you haven't heard already, Kanyeezy is shooting the music video for the song "Runaway," a track featuring the Clipse's Pusha T (who recently got signed to West' label). Not only is it a music video, but he's turning it into a 40-minute film. Sometimes I wish I could get inside people's heads so I can actually know what they're thinking or understand them better. West is a creative dude, but sometimes, he goes a little bit too far. But we still seem to love it. Here's a comment he said about the video, which is supposed to have him fall in love with a phoenix, lol:
"It’s the story of a phoenix fallen to Earth, and I make her my girlfriend, and people discriminate against her and eventually she has to burn herself alive and go back to her world. I’ve been feeling the idea of the
Nas to set to drop "The Lost Tapes" Vol. 2
Yo! If you haven't heard "The Lost Tapes" Vol. 1. I would strongly recommend you to get it first before you listen to Vol. 2. It's that damn good! It's a mixture of unreleased tracks from Nas recorded between 1998 and 2001. Nas said he will release Vol. 2. Dec. 14.
Trey Songz has friends come on 106&Park to bragg about himself and new album
Anybody see Trey Songz pull a Lebron James on 106&Park yesterday? Dude is a talented brotha and definitely has his way with the ladies. HOWEVER, Atlantic Records took it to a whole other level with this bright marketing scheme they did for Trey to do some good numbers. He made his appearance on 106&Park and had several celebrities such as Serena Williams, Amar'e Stoudemire, Diddy, and even couple of phone calls from Nicki Minaj and Drake. All of these celebs had a to answer a question that was always thrown out by Rocsi and Terrance: "So what do you think about Trey Songz as an artist?" Just like Lebron's decision that aired on ESPN.....marketing wise, very smart, to watch on TV....not good at all...except for the ladies, of course. Good luck Trey!
Mya signed to G-Unit!?!
Damn! If Game hit that, I'm jealous as hell! Anybody that hit that, I'm jealous as hell! But hittin' that isn't the subject. Rumors are surfacing that Mya has become the newest member G-Unit. Haven't seen anything on thisis50.com about this. So I'm gonna need some more confirmation. Will she do good as a G-Unit artist? Hmmm? Good luck baby...I mean...Mya!
Hoopz and Shaq engagement confirmed through Twitter?!?
I still don't know about this one....hmmm??? She could just be playing along with it.
Can this be a successful comeback for 50?
I don't know...but dude is callin' in some major players in the music game right now to produce and collaborate. Good luck 50!
F.L.Y. Fashion: More Kanyeezy News
So Kanye is admitting to wearing a woman's shirt. The picture above is the alleged girly shirt he wore at a recent fashion show. AND...he will be playing Kenny West again on the Cleveland Show.
An American Fail!
American Idol has just signed on J. Lo to be a host....I got a feeling this is definitely going to be worse then Ellen coming on there hosting. Good luck American Idol!
F.L.Y. Poetry
I love the way you lie. How you can just stand there and not take criticism about yourself amazes me.
I love the way you pretend to act like a city girl, but yet you are from the country.
I love it when you get drunk and tell me how much I mean to you and how much you love me.
I love it when you wake up and half-way don't realize what you said or did the night before.
I love how you contradict yourself when you say don't talk or compare your past with the present, but somehow, you do with me.
I love how you wanna change and be saved, but yet still continue to do the opposite.
I love how you pretend your serious comments and questions are meant to be funny and taken as a joke.
I love the way your mind thinks the worse and how you assume the worse.
I guess I just love the way you lie.

Spicy Chicken, Sausage and Bean Pot
I love brats...first and foremost...I came across Johnsonville New Orleans sausage the other day in Krogers and man! It's like crack! This is one of my favorite recipes...courtesy of food network. I would strongly recommend using Johnsonville's New Orleans sausage in this recipe. Now I'm not the one for spicy foods, but this had only a lil' kick to it...which was enough for me.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan
- 3/4 pound bulk Italian hot sausage
- 3/4 pound, 1 package, andouille sausage, cut into 1-inch lengths on an angle
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into large chunks
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 large onion, quartered and thinly sliced
- 2 carrots, shredded
- 3 to 4 ribs celery from the heart, thinly sliced
- 1 fresh bay leaf
- 2 (15-ounce) cans white cannellini beans
- 5 to 6 fresh sage leaves, thinly sliced
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1/2 loaf baguette
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- A handful fresh parsley sprigs, left whole
- 3 to 4 sprigs fresh thyme, left whole
Directions
Heat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat with extra-virgin olive oil. Crumble the Italian sausage into large pieces, add to Dutch oven and begin to brown, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the andouille and crisp at edges, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove browned sausages to a paper towel lined plate and add chicken, season with salt and pepper. Lightly brown chicken a couple of minutes on each side then add veggies and bay leaf, add more salt and pepper and cook 7 to 8 minutes more to soften veggies. Add sausages back to the pan along with the beans and sage. Deglaze with wine and stir in the stock.
Turn broiler on and set rack in the middle of the oven.
Coarsely chop the bread in food processor into large crumbs, remove blade and toss with melted butter (it melts in 15 seconds in microwave) and the parsley, thyme, salt and pepper. Cover the sausage and chicken with bread and set in oven to brown 2 to 3 minutes. Serve directly from the pot. Keep an eye out for that bay leaf and sprigs!
