Rhymefest running for City Alderman, Wale's performance causes problems, Nelly disappointed at top 10 MC's list

Wal-Mart Not banning Kanye's Album

We all know Kanye loves the controversy and being in the center of the spotlight. About a week ago or so, Kanye tweeted that Wally World was going to ban his album because of the controversial cover of him and a naked Phoenix. So Wally World gets on the defensive end and releases a statement, claiming that they never saw the artwork of Ye's album, and they have every intention on stocking their shelves with his new release. Now of course it will be the edited version, which is why I never go to Wally World (A.K.A. Wal-Mart) to buy CD's.

Oh yeah, here's the tracklist that was released on itunes:

1) Dark Fantasy
2) Gorgeous (feat. Kid Kudi & Raekwon)
3) Power
4) All of the Lights
5) Monster (feat. Jay Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Bon Iver)
6) So Appalled (feat. Jay Z, Pusha T, Cy Hi Da Prynce, Swizz Beatz and RZA)
7) Devil in a New Dress
8) Runaway (feat. Pusha T)
9) Hell of a Life
10) Blame Game (feat. John Legend, Pusha T)
11) Lost in the World
12) See Me Now (bonus)

Here is his 35-minute World Premiere of "Runaway"

Bushwick Bill will Remain in the U.S.

http://sp1.fotolog.com/photo/1/39/62/rufiopanick/1247088550697_f.jpg
Former member of the Geto Boys, Bushwick Bill, will remain in the U.S. after a short stint of facing deportation. Bushwick was in police custody after being charged with drug possession. However, the judge ruled in his favor, so he is staying put. Bushwick is originally from Jamaica. This is what caused him to miss the VH1 Hip Hop Honors and performing beside other former member Willie D. When asked if the Geto Boys would ever reunite, Bushwick said the chances are likely not, because he thinks that the other group members are receptive to his new style of rap, which is gospel. Alright Bushwick! A bit of advice, communication is the key! Talk to them!

University of Mary Washington President apologizes for Wale's Performance

http://djlightsout.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/wale.jpg

After receiving complaints from nearby residents of how loud the volume of the music was and profanity, president Rick Hurley released a statement apologizing about Wale's concert. This kind of crap happens too many times at colleges. They let the student body pick out their favorite rap artist they would like to have perform at their school, then when they realize who it is or what they represent, they say their sorry. Maybe if the faculty or the presidents of these colleges paid a little bit more attention and a short background research of these artists, they would be apologizing every time. Maybe that's why schools in Kentucky (where I'm from) don't have as many rap artists come because of the racist hicks we have running our colleges. I'm just sayin'!

50 and the Game Possibly trying to Communicate

http://bossip.files.wordpress.com/50centgameclose.jpg

Now I'm not gonna make this a big deal or get excited over nothing. And some of you all may not want this to happen...but in the tweeting world, it may have. Apparently, Game has tried to reach out to 50 via twitter by saying, "What up nigga." Now I don't know if that's the right approach or if 50 will ever respond. But I think this can be the season of reunions and squashing a lot of beefs. Hell, I would even like to see Nicki Minaj and Kim call it a truce. Who knows! But like I said before, to have 50, Game, Banks, Buck and Yayo all back together (even if it's just for once)..it would be a good look, and definitely keep the money flowin' in everybody's pockets. C'mon 50! Think about it!

MTV's top 10 Hottest MC's List...I really don't have any comment for this. Feel free to drop your opinion.

1) Eminem
2) Jay-Z
3) Kanye West
4) Drake
5) Rick Ross
6) Nicki Minaj
7) Lil’ Wayne
8 ) Waka Flocka Flame
9) B.o.B.
10) Ludacris

Nelly's Smellin' Himself

http://photos.upi.com/slideshow/lbox/e38050c9edcbbecfff9f4460a545adc4/Week-of-Super-Bowl-XLIV.jpg

I guess he got a lil' offended that he wasn't on BET's Hottest MC's list. And as much as these lists are screwed up, I STILL don't think Nelly deserves to be on there! YES! He's made millions with his music and crossed-over to the mainstream successfully. But does anyone really know what the true definition of an emcee is? I think everyone has their own opinion, so I'll just leave it at that. Click the link below:

Here is BET's Top 10 MC's of the 21st Century (It's definitely better than MTV's)

1) Eminem
2) Lil Wayne
3) Kanye West
4) 50 Cent
5) T.I.
6) Ludacris
7) Drake
8) Young Jeezy
9) Jadakiss
10) Rick Ross

1) Say that you are part of a gang (particularly Bloods or Crips)

2) Start a beef between another local rapper instead of working with them to put all the attention on you

3) Smoke weed and freestyle on a daily basis

4) Lie about your parents career...say that your mom or dad doesn't have a good job when they really do

5) Go out of state and talk about how much work you bring into your own city....in other words...make Kentucky appear in the eyes of others like it's New York, Florida or L.A.

6) Play with guns you don't own and shoot yourself in the chest like Lil Wayne did when he was young

7) Have some kids and become a "baby's dad"....don't pay child support and act like the income your getting from your wack ass shows is what's taking care of you and your family

8) Talk about how much people are just "hating" on you....when in reality...they really just aren't feelin' you

9) Post several youtube videos of you performing and keep the camera on you....not the crowds reaction

10) Have absolutely no kind of promotion or marketing plan

Too Nasty: Raz B (former group member of B2K) goes into detail about how Marques Houston and Chris Stokes had sex with him

Just Nasty!

http://mediaoutrage.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/raz-b.jpg

Now that Omarion has filed for bankruptcy, I think it's official to say that all of B2K is done! However, Raz B is sticking by his crazy ass word that Marques Houston and former manager Chris Stokes molested him. The trip part about it is, dude name Quiton Tarver...r&b artist who remade Prince' hit song, "When Doves Cry" several years ago, said they did the same thing to him. But he gets into some pretty unflattering details about it. Click on the link below:

Kandi Almost gets into a fight on a Radio Show with another female

http://entertainmentrundown.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Kandi-Burress.jpg

After looking at the footage, I still cannot tell what this was all about. All I know is that some female sitting beside Kandi may have said something to offend her....and Kandi didn't take it so well. Mediatakeout.com is reporting that the other female is Kandi's lesbian lover. I highly doubt that is true. But if you are a Housewives of Atlanta watcher like I am...it kinda makes you wonder just a LIL' bit from a previous episode that aired at the beginning of their new season. Remember when the white chick (Miss "Don't Be Tardy for the Party") came out and admitted about her gay lover....well I also remember that Kandi said that she was the only one that knew at one point. Wonder why she would confess to Kandi about something like that? Hmmmm? Good luck with this one Kandi! And listen to Lil' Duval clownin at the end of the video...LOL...Click below and enjoy!

Baracka Flacka Flame Goes Hard in the Paint video, Nicki Minaj listed at #6 on MTV's Hottest MC's in the Game, Part 1 of "How to Be a Fake Rapper" Manual

Happy Friday my people! I don't know about ya'll, but the week has flown by! Just copped me a lil' weekend date, so wish me luck! Other than my dating life, please continue to tune in for details about F.L.Y. Society turning into Corporate Swag Society. 50 Responds to Chelsea Handler Rumors

http://live.drjays.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/50_cent_09_wenn2647105.jpg

Like I said before, this guy's music is no longer relevant to me (Thank God for Lloyd Banks), but his money, power and marketing have made a lot of people in the industry respect him. 50 just landed a $200 million deal with his Cheetah Films associate Randall Emmet and Lionsgate. In case you didn't know, that's a big deal! When asked about his relationship with Chelsea Handler, he said they met and discussed about film projects. The two were spotted in New Orleans having dinner about a month ago. He did admit to sending her flowers, but that's about it. Now if you are the average person like me, you would speculate that these two have already sealed the deal! Check out the links below for an exclusive interview that Funkmaster Flex did with 50.

Kat Stacks Regrets Setting Soulja Boy Up (Yeah right! LOL)

http://www.rosecotto.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Kat-Stacks-1.jpg

This chick has definitely made her coochie mark on a lot of rappers. And for whatever reason, these rappers won't learn their lesson. No wonder we have all kinds of STD's spreading! Anyway, the queen of all young hoes recently did an interview for Vibe Magazine. She said she doesn't regret exposing the rappers, EXCEPT Soulja Boy. She claims that because they had a mis-communication problem, that's why she did what she did. Oh yeah, one more thing: She said that her and Soulja Boy are cool now, but not like they use to be. I mean, who is this chick kidding? Remember Choppa (Diddy's Making the Band)....well if you followed Kat Stacks in some of her earlier video posts before she really got HOE-WING-LEE famous, she tried to get at him, but he quickly shut her down after revealing that he has video footage of her gettin' banged out by him and his crew. After that, there were some videos posted with her apologizing to him and squashing the beef. Sooooooo, this means that she's basically lying to Vibe. Not only did she regret Soulja Boy, but she regrets the rants with Choppa. Maybe she's not telling that part because Choppa's career isn't as big as Soulja's. Just a thought. Kat also talked to Vibe about her former pimp, prostitution and drinking problem as well. What is the world coming to?

Swizz Beatz and Cassidy Getting Sued Over 2007 Song

http://static.poponthepop.com/images/gallery/swizz-beatz-photo.jpg

Lord knows Swizzy doesn't need any issues while taking care of my wife (Alicia Keys) and their new baby. A producer name Antwann Frost claims that he helped Swizzy produce Cassidy's song, "My Drink N' My 2 Step" and didn't get any royalties from it. He said that Swizzy offered him $5,000 and partial ownership of the song, but dude is suing for like $1.5 millie! Now why in the hell would you wait three years later to mention something about a song you should have gotten paid for. If that was me, I would have been screaming about my paper back then, ya dig!

Lupe asks MTV a lot of Questions on Twitter

http://images06.alloy.com/pagesystem/5/86/5813/5813_slide1.jpg

This is what Lupe addressed to the people over at MTV via his twitter:

Oh snap…MTV (illuminati’s favorite network) back on the attack…why can’t y’all just chill out? Salacious banality @ the speed of light? I think I’ve been very good natured with you. I personally know several employees of your company. You guys know me as well. I’m confused. Where is the true music journalism??? where is Suchin?!! What happened? Where are the honest critiques of cultural expression? For it’s not about being RIGHT it’s about being HOT Fame over self-awareness and virtue Hedonism over self respect Celebrity over cerebral. A destroying force in our culture and society just like rest of the useless vapid spectacles that pour out of our tv’s and radios.

What are we supposed to be learning from you? What is your point? Do you have a point beyond corporate sponsored distraction? Your a materialistic shell of your former self that can only identify with celebrity pageantry and instant gratification. Corporate garbage pushing plastic lifestyles and wasteful, destructive behavior into the brains of the youth of the world. So when your relevance thins in2 a whisper & the stock price collapses and you have 2 come 2 grips with the mess you made. I’ll be here 4 ya. We’ll be here. With hands full of baby powder 2 smack some sense back into your body & a warm shoulder to cry on. We want the REAL MTV back!

Nicki Minaj lands at #6 on MTV's Hottest MC's in the Game List:

http://www.hiphoprec.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/Nicki+Minaj.png

They are counting down the top 10...and believe me..this list is a bunch of what I like to call "Tom Foolery!" Congrats to Nicki, who's ahead of Lil' Wayne on the list. But I really have to do some investigating and find out who actually makes this list every year. One things for sure, they must go into witness protection after they finish deciding. Anyway, here is who they have listed so far:

10) Ludacris
9) B.O.B.
8) Wacka Flocka Flame
7) Lil Wayne
6) Nicki Minaj

YOU BE THE JUDGE!

Lloyd Banks' tracklisting for H.F.M.2

Like I said before, Banks is one of my favorite rappers and I have a lot of high expectations for this album. However, my only concern is all of the features. Not to say that the features aren't on point. But I hope it doesn't change Banks' sound. Can't wait for it to drop! Nov. 23 people!

F.L.Y. Fashion Advice for Homecoming

http://www.riseandgrind.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/08_Uncle.jpg

Okay, so there have been a lot of homecomings going on for colleges. The University of Kentucky will be celebrating homecoming this weekend. WKU and EKU's homecoming will take place next weekend. So with all of these homecomings, comes some fashion concerns. The most popular places that people will be seen is at the football games, stepshows (except for EKU..the Colonels don't have one), and alumni party. I'm not trying to tell you people what to wear, how to wear it, or what to do after you wear it! But whatever you do, don't be a grown ass adult getting excited like it's the first day of school and what you're going to wear to shut everybody else down! Particularly, this happens a lot with the ladies. So Ladies!!!! It's okay to be F.L.Y., but it's not okay when you get homecoming mixed up with Halloween. I'm a Western alumni and former football player returning to my homecoming this year for the first time since I graduated in 05'. The outfits and people's attitudes should be interesting. I expect to see a lot of costumes come out next Friday and Saturday night. When it's all said and done, dress appropriately and be yourself. It's too late to impress someone and talk about the what if's, ands, and buts. If you're not doing nothing with your life now, don't lie about it, however many kids you have...admit to it. Last but not least, this is just for a weekend, NOT FOREVER! I'm out!

How to be a Fake Rapper Manual

http://i41.tinypic.com/30c2lpj.jpg
To gain some respect, go stay overnight in a holding cell for a small violation and tell everyone that you did some time because somebody snitched on you...or it dealt with drugs

Tell people about record deals that you don't really have

Post several youtube videos yourself and what little crew you have bragging about the money you're not really getting

Lie about where you live at

Borrow one of your friends guns and pose with it in a picture

Rap about stuff you don't do and will never do

Build your reputation up by never letting people know how you were as a child or in high school

Gucci headed to Rehab, Dipset in the Studio with Dr. Dre, Bun B to teach at Rice University

What's good folks! Did ya miss me?! LOL...My apologies for taking some time off. Actually, it was good time taken off. I recently came into a nice opportunity to launch my own website called Corporate Swag Society. Yes! That's right! Corporate Swag Society is on deck! Basically, I'm turning this blogsite into a website. I sincerely thank all of my supporters and non-supporters because without you all, this wouldn't have been possible. As for all of my supporters, I hope you can help me in the marketing department by spreading the word. I will keep you up to date with the details! Stay tuned! Now lets get to some of this crazy ass news that's been going on......

WoW! It seemed like I had been gone forever the way the news and rumors have flooded in. For about the 80th time, Beyonce is supposed to be pregnant....AGAIN! My wife Alicia Keys had a baby boy that I hate to say was not mine. T.I.'s short stint out the slammer has him crawling right back in for about 11 months, and did anybody hear about Gucci headed to rehab?

Is it Really Gucci's Time?

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/34141365/Gucci+Mane+Gucci+Mug+01.jpg

Remember back in the early 90s when some of us were young and most of the rappers we listened to didn't go to jail? Hell, even N.W.A. and 2 Live Crew had fairly clean records! Nowadays, it seems like if you are a rapper, you are not cool and are not certified unless you get some time behind bars. Allegedly, Gucci's attorney and a few other unknown people have recommended that he check himself into rehab because of a drug addiction.....to COCAINE....is what I heard. Maybe this is where he gets his motivation behind some of those bars he spits on the mic. Who knows? All I do know is that when Gucci got out, he was supposed to make good on two things. 1) Squash the beef with Jeezy and CTE.....there hasn't been much said between these two camps as of lately, but clearly, it's not looking like a Dipset reunion. 2) He was interviewed by the news after being released and saying that he has learned his lesson and jail has made him a better person. But has it really? As I mentioned before, I'm not for sure how much of this is true. But I'm sick of rappers getting 1,001 chances.

T.I.! See you in 11 months!

 http://sadesalami.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/ti-mugshot.jpg

Tip is the most disappointing out of all of this. He really had the public looking up to him and made himself even a more prominent figure before going to prison the first time. But of course, in the eyes of T.I. fans, this man can do no wrong. Well sorry, I'm definitely a T.I. fan, and he definitely has done wrong....AGAIN! The strangest thing about this is I honestly think the guy who was SUPPOSEDLY about to commit suicide until Tip came to the rescue and talked him out of it, was a hoax. So you're telling me that the day before you get sentenced, you're gonna save a man's life, which could honestly have led to a lesser sentence or no jail time. However, looks like Tip, his wife and attorneys didn't get what they asked for (which was drug rehab). Let me go into the psychic mode for a minute.....uhhhhhh...my crystal ball tells me that Tip doesn't have a drug problem, he has a recreational drug use problem. It was unfortunate that he and his wife were so stupid to ride in a Maybach with drugs in their system. Once you become a celebrity, you are not considered to be an average human being like myself, which I understand can be hard. However, along with money, comes more problems. We learned that one from the big homie Biggie. So farewell Tip! Before you and Tiny make more mistakes, I asked that you think about your family's well being first. Not that you weren't but, it's pretty evident that you didn't think you were going to be punished for your actions.

Dipset in the Studio with Dr. Dre

http://cdn.nahright.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Dipset-Dr.-Dre.jpg

With Cam, Juelz and Jimmie in the studio with Dre, only leads me to ask one question: How does 50 feel about this? It's funny how all these rappers can have beef with each other, but when it comes to working with Dr. Dre, who gets along with pretty much everybody, nothing is said. 50 has definitely lost in the music game (thank God for Lloyd Banks)...but 50 is one hell of a promoter. Because of collaborations like this, even if it's 5-10 years from now, don't count out a G-Unit reunion (Game, 50, Banks, Yayo, Buck)...too good to be true right...imagine how much money these guys can make? And they could definitely help Buck out!

B Is NOT Preggers!

Click the image to open in full size.

This isn't even worth my time writing, but in case you are still wondering, Hov's wifey is not pregnant. I don't know where people get some of their information. As I said before, this kind of rumor usually floats around annually. On the upside, we do know that B definitely wants a family.....SOMEDAY, but not today!

R.I.P. Stack Bundles

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/3310054/Stack+Bundles+stack.jpg

If you don't know who this guy is....google him. He was an up and coming artist who was closely tied to Jim Jones, Joe Buddens and a few others. His life was cut short by a stupid murder. May you rest in peace my brother.

Happy Birthday Mya! 31 and still looking fine as hell!

Why did Ya'll Make Monica Leave Twitter!?!?

 http://blog.singersroom.com/celebs/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sep18_monica.jpg

I hate to say it, but from her "Man" track record, I seen this one coming a mile away. What's so disappointing about it is that Monica is beautiful, intelligent and very talented....But we all know that every good girl likes a thug or a lil' ruggedness in her man. C-Murder...ties to Young Buck....Rocco...now Shannon Brown. About a year or two ago, we saw her premiere her reality show on BET and building a house with then future hubby Rocco...fast forward to now...she has accepted Shannon Brown's proposal. I'm not mad at her cause I'm a Laker fan...I just hope this one sticks.

Swizzy and Alicia head out for some Shopping

Fresh out the womb, my wife was caught shopping with Swizzy and their love child they had together. Damn baby! I hope he's treating you right. You know you can always come back home.

Cee-Lo is Back!

His very first solo album captured my attention. And I have been waiting on him to drop another one ever since. It's been about eight years or so, but with a new revived Elektra Records, and his song "F*ck You" getting plenty of spins, I believe "Lady Killer" will have some success. Notice I didn't mention anything about Gnarls Barkley cause that's not my kind of thing.

Bun B headed to Rice University

http://www.itsmsquared.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Bun-B.jpg

The Trill O.G. is going to teach a hip hop and religion course at Rice University in Houston, Tx. Now if you're thinking what I'm thinking, you would know this class was booked from the very start...AND! You know tons of wannabe rappers are coming to class with a fresh demo in their hands. Interesting to see how this will play out.

Is it Just Me???? You be the Judge!

I honestly don't know what 50 and Soulja Boy were thinking when XXL picked this as the cover.  Nuff said!

A liquor store at every street corner constantly calls my name
A 15-year-old pregnant girl just caught the Tarc bus home
The winters are so cold, just like a lot of these young killers, who won't think twice about taking another man's life, but neither do the cops
Couples faithfully go to bible study on Wednesday and church on Sunday, and still won't do right
I look at the skinny old homeless man with nappy dreadlocks and ask myself how did he get like this
The west end looks like a completely different society than on the east end
Will it ever come together?

Decypha: Every Album Gotta Story to Tell

About five to ten years ago, the underground and local rap scene in Lexington, Ky. had the streets literally begging for more rap artists. Rappers like Rob Jackson, G-Mack, Bonafide Circle and Lextown Hustlaz led the forefront while other Lex-town rappers followed and made their own names for themselves in the city. Not to mention the lyrical standouts of Flawless Black, Young Chu, Studio and Kae State grabbing the attention of their peers in-state and out of state.

But in the midst of some of these rappers success, their was one at that time who went highly unnoticed and soon became a diamond in the ruff. It's kind of like describing a person who got picked in the last round of an NBA draft and they went on to become a hall of fame player. If the rap profession was a game, he would have pissed off a lot of teams and coaches because instead, they chose to go with a more popular player like Greg Oden ...which we all know was a bust! However, David Drummond, better known in the rap game as Decypha, would explain it different. To sum it all up, he would tell you it didn't matter how major other rappers were in the city. To him, it was about respect. And if you didn't have it for him, he would simply take it. To understand Cyph's triumphs, struggles and his grind, you have to understand how it started from the beginning. Just like a book goes by the pages and chapters, with Cyph's five mixtapes, every one of them has a story to tell behind his success and progression.

How did you start rapping?
Cyph: It all started with an Outkast song called, "Me and You." I had the cassette joint with the instrumental on the other side. I started rappin' on it and was like, "What the f*ck am I doin'?" It was only for recreational purposes at the time. I sucked at writing so I use to freestyle. When I would freestyle, n*ggaz thought I had written my sh*t, but I just mastered it.

View All Photos | throne or a chair, its all the same 2me ima KING!!!! lol | DeCypha... Follow me on Twitter.com/DeCypha_859

How was your first mixtape, "The Outline," formed?
Cyph: It was created off of frustration because when I first started rappin', I rapped consciously and n*ggaz wasn't feelin' it cause they said I wasn't street enough. I only had two features on that mixtape. People thought I couldn't do a project without Scoupe (another rapper from Lexington). Plus, it was a lot of competition going on in the city at the time.

A Star in the Making....
BY this time, Cyph had caught the attention of Block, CEO of Black Life Entertainment. After dropping the Outline 1 in 2003, and the Outline 2 about year in a half later, Cyph had definitely earned some respect in his city. He would eventually join Scoupe and Kae State over at Black Life to form the trio NHB. A third mixtape titled, "The Answer," was supposed to be put out on Black Life, but somehow, things didn't go exactly as planned.

Can you explain to me the situation with the third mixtape and how that came about?

Cyph: Black Life was supposed to print my project (The Answer), but it really didn't happen that way. I was still recording at Troy B's (local rapper from Lexington) crib, so I had 13 songs. I put that out the same time Black Life put Scoupe's mixtape out. We started doing shows all over the city and county. The Answer was supposed to be hosted by Scoupe. They wanted me to follow his footsteps. I ended up doing things myself, which was a blessing in disguise, so everything was gravy. Once Block seen how I was doin' it, he had more copies pressed up. It wasn't that the mixtape wasn't dope, but Block didn't wanna promote it because I think he had his money invested in something else.

Then you dropped Reality Check 1 and 2 hosted by DJ DCeezy. What was the motivation behind those mixtapes?
Cyph: Everything! Reality Check 1 was checkin' everybody who was still talkin' like I couldn't do it or had something else to say. Reality check 2 was me checkin' myself. You can't have a reality check unless you check yourself.

Was there ever an NHB album?
Cyph: Block wanted to do one. We recorded some songs and did a couple of shows, but it didn't really happen. The Reality Check mixtape also came from this because I thought that n*ggaz was gettin' ahead of themselves. Scoupe wanted to work on his mixtape, State went to do his. So for me to stop working on something and put focus on something else wasn't working.

So did every still get along? What kind of reactions were you getting from the Reality Check mixtapes?
Cyph: Everybody was still together but we was doing our own thing. The reaction from Reality Check was crazy! I said what other n*ggaz was scared to say. That was my mentality then. Now, I just keep my cool.

In order to separate yourself from the rest of the pack (other rappers) what were some changes you had to make?
Cyph: I had to cut some people out of my circle. At the end of the day, how many n*ggaz  in the hood is buying a CD? There's a lot of people saying that they support music, but they don't actually buy it.

How has the rap game changed?
Cyph: Back in the day, you had the best n*ggaz from every hood come together for one cause. When that Lextown Anthem dropped and was played in the clubs, everybody went crazy! Now its n*ggaz wanting to be individuals.

What are you currently working on?
Cyph: A promo CD to be released just digital. Just for the Dj's and the ladies. It should be out November or December. My album should be out next year. And I definitely wanna finish the reality check sequels.

Cyph Bonus:

How did you and DJ DCeezy hook up?
Cyph: Black Life did like a small county tour. I met him in Maysville. He was the first Dj to be honest with me. He definitely had a major effect on my music. He's part of the reason I do so much more club music. Reality Check 1 was street music, Reality Check 2 produced a single. (Turn it up ft. Page)

A favorite Quote Cyph likes to use:
"I got a bunch of people around me, how many do I really need?" - Dr. Dre.

Yung Berg gets robbed.....AGAIN!...50 and Chelsea Handler?!

Wutz good my people's?!?! Still running off fumes from a long weekend and doing work at the BET Hip Hop Awards....however, I thought I told you that we won't stop (Diddy Boppin' right now)....It's been a lot going on inside and outside the world of hip hop. Of course Eddie Long (I refuse to put Bishop in front of his name for right now...he's on PAUSE!) has been staying in the news lately, Yung Berg former rapping career has made himself a victim again, Waka Flocka Flame wants to work with Nas, Mario gets arrested for going HAM on his mother after being caught with using drugs, Weezy sent to solitary confinement and a whole lot more! LEGGO!

BATMAN GETS SNATCHED

It's really a shame because I honestly think this guy has some talent and has a lot of potential. To give you a quick run down on Yung Berg, his mentor was DMX and he toured with the Ruff Ryders as a young teenager. Years later, he came back in the game with the hit singles, "Sexy Lady," Ray J's "Sexy Can I," and his other single, "The Business." This kid was climbing up the charts and reaching stardom UNTIL.....his transformer chain got snatched in Detroit and the rest is history. Fast forward to now, an overseas rapper by the name of T-Rowdy claims he now has possession of Berg's chain. And just like the transformer one, he has proof...peep this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj1SUHdd7iQ

Now, the crazy part of it all is......Berg has spoken about the chain and said that it was donated to a kid for charity who likes Batman. I'm with the UK rapper....why in the hell would you give a little kid a big ass chain like that for charity!?! NOT A GOOD LOOK! Therefore, I shall say..... GOOD LUCK BERG!

HEROIN IS A SERIOUS DRUG!

Photo of singer Mario Barrett - Police Mugshot

Rick James said it best....we all know that cocaine is a helluva drug....well heroin is a serious drug! R&B singer and Baltimore native Mario, found his mother in the act of using drugs and apparently the mother and son confrontation got out of hand. I believe heroin is her choice of drug. Anyhow, Mario's mother has been struggling from a drug addiction for a while and being the good son he is, he's been trying to get her away from that lifestyle. However, you can't assault your mother while doing so. Police found a broken China cabinet, a messed up mirror, a hole in the closet door, and broken glass everywhere. I hope everything works out for the 24-year-old youngster and his mother. Good Luck Mario!

K.I.S.S.I.N.G?!?!?!

I don't know about this one. I was reading somewhere today that 50 has now become a genius at marketing. I couldn't agree more. When 50 wants attention, he gets it. And he doesn't even have to rap anymore to do so. Word on the street was that these two were spotted in New Orleans together. You know 50 has been flirting with her since the day he was a guest on her show. And Chelsea does fantasize about black men a lot soooooooooo....who knows...better yet..who cares! I just wanna know if he hits it!

F.L.Y. EPIC WIN OF THE DAY!

HILARIOUS! And who knew Steve Harvey was the new host of family feud? I didn't! Check out the link at the bottom.

F.L.Y. EPIC PIX OF THE DAY GOES TO..................

None other than Serena Williams and Ice T's Coco. Serena and Common were spotted at the beach...also...Esther Baxter is awesome!

That's all for right now folks! Stay F.L.Y!

Highlights of the BET Hip Hop Awards Show

In the famous lyrics of the old school group Soul II Soul, looks like it's "Back to life, back to reality!"
Just touched back down in Louisville, Ky. today from the ATL...fresh off of the BET Hip Hop Awards! If you don't want to know what happened and wait for it to come on T.V., I would recommend that you not read this and other blogs and stories online already published. But if you do, let me give you my personal opinion about the awards show:

MC Hammer

From a rating of 1 to 10, I honestly give it about a 7 in my book, which is still considered good to me. Rick Ross, Diddy and Dj Khaled opened up the show with a hot performance of "B.M.F." and "MC Hammer." But guess who stole part of their shine, Hammer did! Right after Ross, Diddy and Khaled stepped off stage, in comes Hammer and the crowd went wild! As usual, he had his backup dancers (not 20 like back in the day, but around 4-6) and performed "Too Legit 2 Quit." Now if you are 25 and up, you remember that this song was crazy popular back in the day! And, I must say, he hasn't lost any of his dance moves. Ross' and Hammer's performance really started the show off right in a major way.

Then, in comes Mike Epps strolling on some roller skates doing his famous retarded "chicken arm" impression. He was a very good host and kept the crowd entertained with jokes about Kat Stacks, Kim Kardashian, Soulja Boy, and a host of other celebrities. He also joked about Rick Ross being the new Barry White, which I thought was funny.

A major "No-No" I think they had in the show this year were the cyphers, which has always been my favorite part of the show. However, this year's show had a total of seven cyphers, and most of these rappers were up and coming artists or no-names that not even the crowd recognized. Standouts in the cyphers were Toronto, Canada's own Rema Major. I called her the total package...she is like a Nicki Minaj and a Lil Kim combined! Kanye surprised everybody by joining the cypher, alongside his artists from his G.O.O.D. music label such as Common and Pusha T. But I must say that the best cypher everyone enjoyed at the show was the father and sons connect of Ice Cube and his two sons, Doughboy and OMG, and Rev. Run and Diggy and JoJo Simmons. Cube's sons surprised me, in a good way, and Cube did his thing as well. Rev. Run....well...I believe everyone applauded out of respect...I mean, he is a reverend after all. The crowd went crazy when it was Diggy's turn to go and he didn't disappoint. As usual, JoJo received little or no props at all for his bars.

Other highlight performances included Gucci and Swizz beats performing "Gucci Time...." J. Cole with "Who Dat".....Soulja Boy's "Pretty Boy Swag"....B.O.B. with "Don't let me Fall"....which was incredible because of the way he can sing, rap, have a drummer, background singers and play his guitar at the same time....Waka Flaka did his thing with "No Hands".....and the Dipset Reunion was pretty descent as well. I'm an old school kind of guy, so one that I thoroughly enjoyed was Digital Underground. After Cali Swagg performed "Teach Me How to Dougie," Digital Underground's Shock G came on the stage and said, "Wait a minute, wait a minute! They taught ya'll how to Dougie, but we taught ya'll how to do the Humpty!" The crowd went crazy again and everyone got out of their seats to do the Humpty dance. The Underground also performed "I Get Around" in dedication of Tupac. "We always got to see the thug side of him, but we never got to see the fun side of him," said Shock G.

Bed Intruder Song Extended Antoine Dodson 01-2010-08-08.jpg

Antoine Dodson, famously known for being gay and a white guy turning his news interview about his sister being nearly raped in the projects into a song (Hide Ya Kids, Hide Ya Wife), came out and performed. He also came out dressed like Punky Brewster...You don't know who that is, google her, lol. You can tell he was very nervous and damn near didn't wanna sing it. But it was one of the highest selling ringtones on iTunes and it did buy him a house for him and his family to move out of the projects sooooo....lol

Salt N Pepa THEN.jpg

TV talk show host Mo'Nique presented Salt N' Pepa with the "I Am Hip Hop" Award, which they were very deserving of. And Mike Epps had few more funny moments...when he came out in a Shiny Suite dancing like P. Diddy (we knew him as Puff Daddy back then, lol.) He also came out with the New Boyz dressed in tight skinny jeans and a skinny t-shirt. "What the hell ya'll lookin' at, I ain't gotta wear these tight ass jeans everyday," he said. "Jeans so damn tight I can see ya blood pressure in' em." Oh yeah, and a special tribute was made to Gangstarr member Guru, who we recently lost to cancer. DJ Primo, Guru's son and nephew honored him.
