FINALLY FRIDAY! After a long-but-short Labor Day weekend...I really did think that this week would be no different....short. However, my boss and supervisor let me know real quick that it was gonna be a long one for me. I almost felt like Kunta Kinte in Roots when they had him tied up and the master was lashin' out licks, sayin' "Boy....You're name is Toby!"...But what did Kunta do? (Not that I would have done it, lol)...he held his ground for as long as he could and never gave in. That's what I did at work! Shout out to Kunta!

Toppers vs. Wildcats
WKU will travel to my hometown (Lexington, Ky.) to take on the Kentucky Wildcats. Many people are already counting this as a loss. As much as I love the Wildcats, I refuse to cheer against a school that I played and worked hard at to get my journalism degree. Now mind you that the Toppers are not the same when I played from 2000-2004. But just like UK, we have a new (Black) coach that I'm hoping will get the football program back to where it's supposed to be. And I believe he will......he was the assistant coach when I was there. But don't count those Toppers out.....just look what happened to Ole Miss against Jackson State...Oh yeah...it can happen again...GO TOPS! Last but not least, what I'm proud of...is that this is the second week in a row where Kentucky has had two black head coaches face off against another. Now that's writing some history!

After Kanye said that Lloyd Banks (one of my favorite rappers) has got to be one of the best top five rappers alive via twitter, the Gorilla wanted to hug the Teddy Bear. In other words, 50 Cent says he wouldn't mind working with Kanye on some music. I've said it before, I love 50 as an entertainer, but he his rap career has drowned with the best of them...so he needs all the help he can get. BUT! It's just funny how 50 can make constant gay jokes and allegations about Kanye, and yet, still want to make a song with him. Do what ya gotta do Fifth....but if you had been makin' jokes about me being gay...not only would we have a problem..but we wouldn't be collaborating together on anything! Good luck Fifth!

Pretty Boy Floyd Gets Arrested

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was arrested Friday in Las Vegas and charged with felony theft related to a domestic violence complaint filed by a former girlfriend. Mayweather, 33, was booked Friday on a grand larceny charge and was held on $3,000 bail, Las Vegas police Officer Bill Cassell told the Associated Press.
Richard Wright, Mayweather's attorney, said the boxer was accused of taking an iPhone from Josie Harris, the mother of three of his children. "He did not commit any grand larceny," Wright told the AP.
On Thursday, Harris made a police complaint and sought a Family Court protection order and alleged that Mayweather punched her in the head and twisted her arm. Sounds like a bad case of baby mama drama to me...whew! But as you can see....Floyd is still all smiles!

Foxy Wins!
I swear this is the only chick I know in hip hop that has a track record of getting arrested and some jail time for disorderly conduct. However, Foxy has won the battle against her neighbor Arlene Raymond in Brooklyn who claimed that Foxy had violated a court order to stay away from her. Not only that, but she also alleged that Foxy mooned her during the incident. Don't know if it matters of even if you remember, but back in 2007, Foxy got hit with a protection order from Raymond and a probation sentence as well for hitting her with a blackberry. In the midst of their latest feud, all but one charge (two felonies and three misdemeanors) was dropped against Foxy for an incident that took place in July. They charged her with violating a court order that bars her from having contact with Raymond. So what does this mean for Foxy? Nothing but a little community service. Good luck Arlene! The only person that got away with feuding with a female rapper is the one that has my girl Remy Ma locked up...and hopefully her appeal will set her free. Good luck Rem! I love you!

So we know that basically, my ex-wife Alicia Keys took Swizzy away from the ever-so-bitter Mashonda. She has ranted on twitter, facebook, myspace, office space, your space, etc. about how hurt she was. Well now she has moved to the Sister 2 Sister Magazine...Check out part of her interview below:
S2S: Were you guys dating other people before he got with Alicia? Were you guys separated?

Mashonda: We were married. Sleeping in the same bed and having sex every night while he was seeing Alicia. Okay? It was an affair. 100 percent. I don’t know why people want to change that rule so much. We had just had a kid, for crying out loud. Our child was 8 months. I found out about Alicia two days before my son turned 1. They had been doing their thing for months before that.

S2S: You said that Alicia wanted your baby to call her “mommy”. How do you know that she said that?

Mashonda: My son told me.

S2S: And you told her that is not going to happen?

Mashonda: Yeah. I sent her an email and asked her to please respect what I am to him and it’s not right for her to think that is okay. She never replied. She doesn’t reply to me. She has never given me that respect.

S2S: What does Swizz say?

Mashonda: He said okay, he would stop it. He wouldn’t let her do it.

S2S: That would be kind of confusing for the child.

Mashonda: Oh, it is. It is so unfair to the child. I have been in contact with the little girls mother (the woman in England who has Swizz’s baby). She’s a young girl. She’s a spiritual girl. She apologized to me… I don’t even judge her. I can’t. She’s totally different than the other one. This other one knew. Alicia knew about me 100 percent. Swizz introduced me at prior events. They were signed to the same record company. She knew. And I emailed her and asked her to stop doing what she was doing and she disregarded me. Just like she disregarded me when I asked her to not have my son thinking it was okay to call her “umi.” You’re not his umi. You just met my son.

S2S: “Umi” is like “mommy”?

Mashonda: “Umi” means “mommy” in Arabic. I’m like no. And then after I spoke to the lady in London, she told me that she tried to get her daughter to call her “umi” as well.

S2S: She’s met the lady in London?

Mashonda: Yes. I’m glad she’s having her own child now because now she will have someone to call her “umi”.

S2S: Wow.

Mashonda: Like, if you want to be a stepmother, that’s great. Be a stepmother. But don’t think that it’s okay to make a kid call you “umi” or “mommy.”

T.I. and Tiny Arrested in Hollywood, Diddy getting sued for $12 Million

T.I. and Tiny Arrested in Hollywood

 Damn Tip! This could be major trouble for T.I. if the outcome sticks to what the rumor says. The couple was arrested in West Hollywood around 10:30 p.m. last night for drug possession when police stopped them for a traffic violation and found meth-amphetamines and ecstasy. They were taken into custody, but released around 4 a.m. after paying a $10,000 bail (each.) Now granted if he gets out of this mess, it definitely won't sit well with the press, nor his business ventures. After making several speeches about learning from his mistakes and doing thousands of hours of community service, this is definitely not a good look. This will be interesting on how it will play out in Tip's personal and professional life. He is a very private person, but with the media knowing his criminal background, I'm not sure how he and the wife are gonna avoid this. Both were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. The rapper could be going back to prison as he faces a year and several fines.


Diddy getting sued for $12 Million?!?

I swear some people can be so bitter. This 51-year-old white lady has it in for Diddy, claiming that he fired her because of her age and medical condition. Get this, her medical condition was that she needed hip surgery back in 2008...and along with a relapse she suffered with prescription medication and alcohol abuse. So Diddy being Diddy and handling his business, replaces her with a person 10 to 15 years younger than her.....and maybe with a little less experience than grandma had....so my question is....where was Diddy wrong in this?

Quincy Brown is the biological son of Al B. Sure and the adopted son of Sean "Puffy" Combs. With both fathers being in the music industry, Quincy has decided to take a notch at it...in some kind of way. Smothered Turkey Wings & Gravy

Ingredients

• 4-6 turkey wings
• 1/4 cup cooking oil
• 2 tablespoons flour
• 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
• 3 cups warm water
• 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
• Salt/black pepper (or your favorite seasoning) to taste

Directions

1. Heat the cooking oil in a medium pot.
2. Thoroughly wash and dry turkey wings.
3. Fry the wings in the oil, over medium heat, turning, until they begin to brown on both sides.
4. Remove the wings; add the flour to the pot and stir as it browns.
5. When the flour is brown, add the wings, bell pepper, onion, and warm water.
6. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Add the thyme, salt/pepper (or seasoning) shortly after the pot starts to boil.
7. Turkey wings should cook until they’re tender, 45 to 60 minutes or more. Add warm water as needed to maintain a rich gravy.

I have to admit.....since 50 created a twitter account, his comments have been very entertaining. But I guess my question is..............how entertaining is his new music gonna be? The rap mogul has promised to take a break from tweeting over the next week to finish up his album, "Return of the Heartless Monster," which is due out Sept. 6. First off, I'll bet a few stacks that the release date will be pushed back. Second, it's kinda funny how he takes jabs a Kanye, but he's using the word "Heartless" in his album title...hmmmmm? This guy reminds me of an older version of Ace Hood......he has some pretty good singles, but the albums have failed to do any real numbers. And what do rappers do that are signed to major labels and their album flops? They go independent, and to Koch Records (known as E1 now) to make a deal. Apparently, this guy is working on his third solo album titled, "King Kong"....and has a some sort of joint venture deal going on with Block Entertainment and E1. Young Buck filing for Bankruptcy and Suing 50 Cent

The Nashville City Paper says Young Buck plans to file for chapter 13 in order to pay off his debt to the IRS in a timely fashion (smh....pleeeease!)...this would also give him the chance to possibly be free of his contract under 50 Cent and able to shop for another deal. Now Buck is tha homie and was the second best (behind Lloyd Banks) artist in G-Unit. I hate the way things went down for him career and financial wise. I wish him nothing but the best of luck and hopefully he knows now not to put his career in the hands of others, but put it in his own hands himself. Good luck Buck!

One good album that did well in numbers does not give you the tag of being a legend to me...but that's what some people are calling this guy. It's been rumored that Coolio has been kicked off of the show "Big Brother" in UK because he got into it with a transsexual and hid their clothing. I have nothing else to say about this one.
